Miami, Florida Job Outlook

Most people would assume that tourism is Miami's top job market due to the region's amazing weather and the presence of the largest cruise port in the world. And they'd be right. Tourism accounts for thoursands of jobs in Miami-Dade County, with more than 22 million people flying into Miami International Airport in 2016 and more than 5 million cruisers boarding ships in PortMiami.

Given Miami's position as a major international port, trade and manufacturing are also key industries in the area, as is finance. Miami is also undergoing a new-construction boom, providing a large number of industry-related job opportunities in areas including architecture, interior design and real estate. Still, the unemployment rate is around that of the entire country, while the average annual salary falls below the national average.
