What kind of jobs are there in Orlando, FL?

With tourism driving the local economy, hospitality jobs dominate the Orlando economy.

It should come as no surprise that the area's unemployment rate is slightly lower than the national rate. However, the average annual salary is also below average, due in part to the high number of low-paying service jobs.

Some of the area's major employers are the Walt Disney World Resort, JetBlue, the Golf Channel and the University of Central Florida. Thanks to UCF's Institute for Simulation & Training, which developed the nation's first master's and doctorate programs in simulation and human performance enhancement, the area's technology sector is well-represented. On the consumer side, Electronic Arts creates some of the world's top-selling video games in Orlando, including the popular Madden NFL series.
